Turkey

The author describes the history of Asia Minor from ancient times, with an emphasis on the origin and development of the Ottoman Empire, its conquests, especially in Europe, and its subsequent decline, which culminated in the 19th and early 20th centuries, when it both disintegrated and was unable to stand up to the European powers. However, the greatest attention is paid to the formation and development of the Republic of Turkey after the First World War until the beginning of the 21st century, including Turkey's efforts to integrate into the EU.
