Trust funds

Trusts are a very interesting and beneficial legal tool for ordinary citizens to organize their family property and avoid problems in the future. Compared to other countries, practically nothing is known about the possibilities and ways of its use in our country. The book serves as a comprehensive source of information on the legal institution of trusts. This institute and its possibilities are not fully understood not only by lawyers and people „ from the field“, but mainly the general public does not know much about it. The authors draw on their experience with the establishment and administration of trusts in the Czech Republic, which they have been involved in since 2014. There is no such book for non-lawyers on the Czech book market yet.

Trusts were introduced into the Czech legal system in 2014, but so far all publications on the subject are – whether on a larger or smaller scale – aimed at lawyers and academics, not the general reader. Since 2017, there has been a significant increase in interest and attention focused on trusts. This development was partly due to positive changes in the tax burden. The second reason was Andrej Babiš's decision to set up his own trust fund, and other well-off Czechs are also doing so. Since then, the number of trusts in the Czech Republic has grown exponentially, as has public interest, as highlighted in E15 in 2019 under the headline „ Fiduciary boom“.

As a result, many ordinary people are increasingly interested in learning more about how the trust fund can serve them and their families.

The book is aimed at these ordinary people and is written in language they can easily understand. It provides practical information and practical examples, not just theory.
