Tremor in musicians and its prevention in the educational system
Tremor is a serious problem for many music students and professional musicians that can cause serious performance impairment and induce suffering and stress. Factors that interact to determine the intensity of the effect of stage fright on performance are: Self-assessment, perceived self-efficacy, level of repertoire readiness and performance experience. The monograph clarifies the issue of stage fright in the variability of its manifestations; describes its psychological, social and educational determinants and provides an analysis of methods of preventing stage fright in the education system. The aim of the research part was to investigate whether self-efficacy and self-esteem can be predictors of stage fright in music students who come from three different educational systems and to determine possible differences between them; then to gain deeper insights into the reasons for this correlation and to see if any differences can be attributed to students' different educational experiences. At the same time, the implications of this study for teachers and students in instrumental education are analysed.
