Transplantation in reconstructive surgery

The publication provides comprehensive information on a topic that is covered in many publications, including lay media coverage (hand and face transplantation). However, the procedures are relatively rare, and there are still many unspoken and unspoken question marks in this area of medicine. Leading domestic and foreign authors have contributed to the publication.

The monograph is divided into general and special sections and contains 31 chapters. In the general part, general issues of transplantation medicine are briefly discussed, as well as legal, ethical, social and psychological aspects of these procedures. Especially the chapters on transplantation in childhood and the outlook for the future are elaborated. In the specialised section, the authors present chapters covering all reconstructive transplantations performed to date. The chapters on hand and face transplantation will undoubtedly generate the most interest.

The well documented publication was reviewed by prof. MUDr. Pavel Pafko, DrSc. and prof. MUDr. Jiří Veselý, CSc.
