One Sunday pre-lunch stroll could have been as peaceful as any other for the adolescent Aron and his father – if only they hadn't bumped into his dad's doppelgänger. What's more, it happened by the great wall separating the so-called Forbidden Quarter from the City. Although children are taught in schools that the excluded zone was the site of an alien invasion, this doesn't quite align with the truth; the reality is far more complex... Events take a dramatic turn after the encounter with the doppelgänger: Aron's father is branded a traitor, and Aron is promptly expelled from school. He initially ends up in a strange Sanatorium, which is much closer to a prison than a medical facility, from which he escapes with the help of a pair of peculiar guides. After penetrating the territory of the Forbidden Quarter, the situation becomes even more complicated: not just because the journey leads the fugitives through increasingly bizarre environments, such as desert production zones or a remarkable station with special catapults. The main source of trouble is the ever-more-tangible sense of danger, the increasingly difficult struggle for the life of Aron's father, who – as it turns out – failed to complete his old mission in the City, but also for Aron himself, who carries a message unknown to him.
