Traitor
The truth hurts, betrayal kills. Another case for William Wisting.
After persistent downpours, a landslide occurs in Larvik, sweeping away several houses. Wisting takes part in the night-time operation, during which rescuers pull out all the residents and find that the disaster claimed no lives. Yet, the next day, a dead man is found in the rubble. A closer examination reveals that he died at least two days earlier and is a Swedish citizen. Wisting is appointed head of a Norwegian–Swedish investigation team. Soon, however, signs emerge that there is at least one traitor among the police officers…
“Jørn Lier Horst masterfully builds the tension up to a nerve-wracking conclusion, where the reader doesn't know until the last moment whether Wisting will prevail as a respected and serious detective, or whether he will become a scapegoat at great personal cost.” Norwegian daily Tvedestrandsposten
