Touch of the Monster

Elver is the guardian of a wild forest full of monsters, and she herself lives with a curse – her skin poisons anyone she touches. The only one her deadly gift doesn't affect is Artair. This is because he is not human; he is one of the Waking, whose fate is to share a body with an evil demon. While Artair sleeps, Lucian controls him, and Lucian plans to use Elver for his own dark purposes. However, Elver also hides secrets and has her own reasons for feigning an alliance with these two souls. Together, they are forced to choose every step carefully, and amidst intrigues among the gods and in places where dangerous magic reigns, it is only a matter of time before their world is shaken to its foundations.
