To the Last Breath (SK)

It was supposed to be your dream date. Instead, you're a victim.

Dress soaked in blood, eyelids forcibly closed. This is what a dead girl looks like in a container.
Although Detective Chief Inspector Erika Foster is the first on the scene, the case is not within her remit. But even this fact cannot stop her.
Erika immediately throws herself into her work and quickly uncovers connections to another unsolved murder four months earlier. Both victims were found in the same environment and died in the same way.
Plus, they both set up a meeting over the internet...
When another girl goes missing under similar circumstances, Erika Foster, Moss and Peterson must act as quickly as possible.
How much time do they have left before the sadistic supposedly kills this girl too?
Who is hiding behind fake Facebook profiles and luring naive young women to a date?
And how does Erika catch a killer who actually exists only virtually?

They wrote about the book

Again, a perfect continuation of the series with investigator Erika Foster. I like stories where I don't know the killer until almost the end, but in this case the opposite was not a bad thing. The author portrayed the perpetrator in a sufficiently disgusting and twisted way that it was interesting to follow his journey as well. Social networks are a rewarding subject, but I believe that the author did not compose them in the first place. Again, I must commend the short, punchy and engaging chapters ("one more chapter and I'll go to sleep I promise...").

Once again Bryndza did not disappoint! 5*
I also take it as instructive in terms of youth and social networking!

PROLOGUE
MONDAY, 29 AUGUST 2016

It was three in the morning and the car was filled with the smell of a dead body.
The heat has persisted for several days. He turned the air conditioning on full blast, but a strong smell still permeated the trunk. It was breaking down fast.
He put it down two hours ago. The flies found her right away, so he had to shake his hands in the dark to shoo them away. He found it funny the way he was swinging and shaking. If she were still alive, she might have laughed about it too.
Regardless of the risk, he enjoyed these nightly trips, when he drove along the deserted motorway and through the outskirts of London. At the last two intersections, he turned off his lights and turned off the engine as he turned onto a deserted residential street.
The car idled silently past houses with dark arches to the foot of the hill, beyond which a small abandoned textile factory appeared.
A parking lot separated it from the road. Tall trees lined the trail, which was shrouded in darkness as the lights from the city cast a blurry orange glow all around. He pulled into the parking lot, rattling as he drove over tree roots that defied the asphalt.
He headed for a row of containers standing at the entrance to the factory and turned sharply to the left. He stopped so that there was a gap of less than thirty centimetres between the boot of the car and the last container.
