Sworn to Silence: Return of Past Shadows

Kate Burkholder, Chief of Police in the small town of Painters Mill, is this time dealing with a tragic road accident—a collision between a horse-drawn buggy and a car, which killed an Amish man and his two children, leaving a third seriously injured. The case is all the more difficult for Kate because the victims are the husband and children of her best friend from her youth, when she herself grew up in the Amish community. Furthermore, the investigation gradually reveals that the collision was no accident; the entire incident was meticulously planned. The traffic accident becomes a triple murder. To make matters worse, evidence comes to light concerning Kate's own dark past, which she has spent her entire adult life trying to escape.
