To die for one god

The story of the first Czech saint and mother of the founder of the Přemyslid dynasty is loosely based on the novel In the Service of Svatopluk. After the death of her husband Bořivoj, Princess Ludmila is the co-ruler of her sons Spytihnev and Vratislav. After their untimely demise, however, she encounters a woman as energetic and domineering as herself, her daughter-in-law Drahomíra. A life-and-death struggle breaks out between them, in which the Czech princely throne is at stake.
