Through the eyes of others

The Czech national movement was already in its time an inspiration and encouragement for similar tendencies in other parts of Europe. The present book provides the first comprehensive view of the significant contribution of the Czech nation to the emancipation processes of the Slovaks, Hungarians, Carpathian Rusyns and Ukrainians, Latvians and Lithuanians, Kashubs, Lusatian Serbs, Finns and Danes. Based on archival sources and contemporary press, Czech and foreign scholars show that Bohemia was a symbol of successful national rise and a centre of exchange of experience and information.
