Daughter's notes from family holiday in Poland bring back memories
Mamika, played by Pavla Tomicová, finds an old diary of her daughter Helenka from when she was a child. She knows she shouldn't, but she won't give in and she'll fall for it. Her daughter's notes from a family holiday in Poland also evoke memories of the time when she went to Poland as a little girl.
The siblings Helenka and Kryštof had a lot of adventures with their parents during their holiday. They took a boat ride, tasted Polish specialties, and watched a breathtaking festival of flying kites on the beach. They rolled around on the sand dunes, admiring the view from the lighthouse, but the most secret thing that happened to them was finding the magic amber.
Today Helenka is a big girl, in love with a boy from Poland, so the Czech-Polish song Dva břehy by the band Izabel also sounds through the book. Pavla Tomicová grew up in Havířov and during the recording she returned to the language of her youth and to songs in dialect and Polish.
Listen up, it's worth it!
