The Witches of Frývaldov

1622: Barbora, a simple shepherd's wife, is accused of witchcraft by her own husband, and the trial leads her to the stake. In the 21st century, a teacher named Sára traces her footsteps. Although Sára lives with all the comforts of the modern age, she is in the thrall of a manipulative partner. Two different worlds, one chilling discovery: the stakes on which women's freedom is burned have not disappeared – they have merely changed their form in modern times. This exceptionally readable and historically well-founded novel shows that the fight for one's own dignity has never ended.
