The plot of the historical crime novel takes the reader to the second half of the 19th century, to the reign of Emperor Franz Joseph I, specifically to the area of the Royal Commissariat, which was a border area that was a paradise for all smugglers heading to Prussia with their goods. Commissar Eduard Plischek, commander of the Financial Guard, is not only dealing with smugglers, but also with the strange murder of a young woman. But besides that, he is also in charge of his men, who are not spared the usual worries or troubles with love.
