The book chronicles the life of a brilliant lawyer and financier who made a decisive contribution to the building of our largest industrial concern. Dr. Karel Loevenstein was the CEO and Chairman of the Management Board of Škoda Plzeň, formerly Škoda Plzeň Plants. He was a member of the board of directors of the Anglo-Czechoslovak Bank, creator of the investment programme of ŠKodové závody during the economic crisis, and consultant to the prime ministers of Czechoslovak governments on economic issues. A half-forgotten personality of an entrepreneur in one of the most important positions in the Czechoslovak industry of that time, whose importance is more suspected by historians than actually known.
