The secret face of a thousand and one nights

When Esther finds a strange box in her recently deceased mother's estate, decorated with Arabic ornaments and filled with photographs of her mother in an exotic country, she is shocked. Is that a wedding dress she's wearing? And who is the man standing next to her in the photos? Did she ever live in the Middle East, even though she claimed she never left the United States? And why didn't Esther ever say anything about it when they were so close?

Determined to find out more about her mother's past, and perhaps even her father, Esther embarks on a journey to Dubai, the alluring city of dreams and illusions. But as she begins her search, she finds herself caught in a web of lies and escalating danger, and soon people who will do anything to silence her enter the scene.

But Esther refuses to give up and continues to search for the next piece of a puzzle whose solution could turn her life upside down forever; and uncover a truth darker than he could ever imagine.
