The scandalous affair of Josef Holoušek

Radio dramatisation of Čapek's short story about a virulent media campaign that accuses an innocent and respectable citizen of "the most depraved crimes against morality and against the safety of life". With humour and cruel thoroughness, the author deals with the phenomenon of fake news, against which social resistance has not grown over the years. Čapek wrote his vivid journalistic experience in the midst of the turbulent interwar Europe into the story. Surprisingly, the theme still resonates today.
