The Rise of Endymion
The intertwined stories of Raul Endymion and Aenea will once again engross us
We revisit the convoluted future that was born out of the chaos following the demise of the human Hegemony, a future dominated by the Catholic Church and the artificial intelligences of the Techno-Head. Once again we are engrossed in the intertwined stories of Raul Endymion and Aenea, a young woman born from the union of a human mother - Browne Lamia - and the reincarnation of John Keats in the body of a cybrid. Aenea is something new in the universe, a point where different forms of existence meet. She was charged with the extremely difficult task of redirecting the evolution of the human species.

They wrote about the book:
The final volume of the saga is the closest of the four "Hyperion" books to classic adventure science fiction. The previous book had already deviated in this direction compared to the original dilogy, but it still relied heavily on the author's highly meta-narrative style of storytelling. But this retreat to a more "ordinary" genre is not a bad thing in the least. Literary chameleon Simmons fits almost any position and squeezes the absolute maximum out of each one.
