The realm of golden eyes

My name is Miandra Leiden. Just a few days ago, I was convinced I would spend my short fairy life on the streets of Boston, dazzling mortals with my magical ability. Like all fairies from my homeland of Nerridia, I can read minds. And not just those of two-legged creatures.

I belong to a tiny handful of fairies who can also read the minds of animals and magical creatures. We are called animallers.

The world as I imagined it, the world as I knew it, fell apart the moment I refused to bow to the mysterious and dangerous Prince of Nerridia.

Was it really just my display of disrespect, or have I become part of a well-thought-out plan?

Twisted secrets are coming to light, and when the wheels of fate stop turning, not everyone escapes their clutches alive.
