The other side
In this book, you won’t find ten steps to success or a guaranteed recipe for happiness.
Instead, you will find reflections on family, because that's where our story begins.
About the parents who raised us the best they knew how.
About those who stayed by our side, and about those we have lost forever.
We will talk about love, which can save a person, but also hurt them.
About relationships that require more than just pretty words.
About forgiveness, which is not a gift for others, but primarily for ourselves.
We will talk about the past. About the fact that we can never change it.
About the present, which is the only time we can act.
And about the future, which won't be better just because we wish it to be, but because we decide to be a better person today.
We will also touch upon topics that are not often discussed. Death. The soul. Questions that most of us only start asking when we lose someone close. I don't offer clear-cut answers. I only offer my own musings, which might help you find peace as well.
You will find a chapter on money and financial literacy. But not because money is the meaning of life. Quite the opposite. I have learnt firsthand what happens when you lose control of it and let it control you. Money can make life easier, but it can never replace character, trust, or a peaceful night's sleep.
We will also talk about rest.
About how today's world constantly pushes us to run faster, work more, and prove our worth through performance. But we forget that a person is not a machine.
The soul needs silence, too.
And the heart needs rest, too.
You might smile at some pages.
At others, you might reflect.
And perhaps you'll come across an idea that makes you close the book for a moment. If that happens, it will have served its purpose.
I don't need you to agree with me on everything. I'll be happy if this book makes you think. Because it is questions, more than ready-made answers, that change a person.
