The Navigators of the Duna

Navigators of Dune is the thrilling finale to the Great Schools of Dune trilogy, written by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson and set ten thousand years before Frank Herbert's legendary novel.

The trilogy explores the origins of the Bene Gesserit Sisterhood and its breeding programme, the Mentat “human computers,” and, in this final volume, the miraculous Navigators, or steersmen, of the Spacing Guild. In the relentless battle for the future of humanity, reason clashes with fanaticism… Three powerful players stand against each other: the new Emperor Roderick Corrino, a thoughtful yet firm ruler with the well-being of his vast Imperium at heart. The religious fanatic Manford Torondo, drunk on his own power… And finally, Josef Venport, with his monopoly on safe interstellar travel, his mysterious mutated creatures, his melange mining on Arrakis, and his banking operations throughout the realm. Other factors also come into play – chance, misunderstanding, human folly, stubbornness, love… Together, these elements set the stage for the well-known events of Dune, one of the cornerstones of world sci-fi literature, which will unfold millennia later.
