The most beautiful version

The first decade of the new millennium is slowly coming to an end. In a small town in East Germany, love blossoms between Jella and Yannick over the summer. But the idyllic romance doesn't last long – the young man's fits of rage turn into something that can't be taken back. When Jella escapes an attempted strangulation, she is met with nothing but looks of disbelief and absurd accusations at the police station. How does initial infatuation turn into suffocating fear? Memories of growing up in the 90s piece together to form an introspective mosaic of friendship, desire, femininity and deep chasms.
