The man between VW and Skoda

Hanuš Holzer (1929–2016) was born into a well-to-do family, but spent his childhood in Terezín, his father perished in Auschwitz. The less he devoted himself to his studies after the war, the more time he spent dealing with traffic situations in Prague, undertaking unprecedented long-distance rides on mopeds, scooters and motorcycles. After the occupation in 1968, the family emigrated to Switzerland, where they became well established.

When Hanuš Holzer reached his sixtieth birthday, November 1989 came and he was caught up in a whirlwind of events. If his life up to now has been full of unexpected twists and turns, only now has it become more dramatic. Hanuš Holzer was behind the entry of the VW Group into the Mladá Boleslav car plant alongside the Chairman of the Board of VW, of the Government of the Czech Republic, negotiated a deal with Bata, he became honorary consul in Basel, he's worked at all sorts of events, always subtly, extremely active and effective every time.

He didn't like to talk about himself, he kept a lot of things quiet. What else will we learn about Hanus Holzer?
