Memories of two decades of police life
Miko Syrový celebrates two decades of his police career. I mean, he would be celebrating if he wasn't in a hospital bed. And so at least he remembers the good and the bad who have passed through his detective life. On the one hand, colleagues, on the other, thieves, cheats, robbers and even murderers. Julio, his first commander, greedy, and yet a lonely Susan, Greg, little Nazi Patrick, Beny the gambler... These and many others deflate before Mike's eyes and he remembers the stories, that he lived with them in times past and times barely past.
In his short story book The Living Dead, Martin Goffa brings back his Prague crime detective, Mikuláš Syrový. After the award-winning trilogy The Man with Tired Eyes - Without a Body - Between Two Fires, the author has prepared a series of short stories that are sometimes harsh, sometimes funny and sometimes bitter. In short, just like the real life of not only Mike Cheese, but actually of every ordinary policeman who wants to do his job properly and still survive.
