A cross-section of Karel Kryl's poetry in his own interpretation!
Karel Kryl began his public performances on small theatre stages and mastered the art of recitation. This came in handy later at Radio Free Europe, but especially at concerts, where he often separated individual songs with poems. Now he is also presenting himself in this role on a solo album.
The compiler of the compilation, Jan Šulc, has included more than forty excerpts from Kryl's poetry collections and books. Crylogies, A book, 7 mirror poems, From under the table, Collected Writings, Under the graphics, Words, Weapons for Erato, Amoresky, Snow White in rags, Krylias & Odysseus, Harakrills, Lot and Treasure Island plus three never before published texts are proof of Kryl's talent as a poet and reciter. It is hard to imagine that anyone else could so accurately accentuate the explicit and implicit meanings of the words.
