The irresistible desire to succumb to your enemy

Osric Mordaunt, a member of the Order of the Fyren and assassin for hire, needs healing. Ironically, the only person who can help him is Aurienne Fairhrim, a scientist, the epitome of morality and - a member of the enemy order. The forced collaboration of a brilliant scientist and a professional assassin leads Aurienne to an old mystical practice. Osric and Aurienne investigate the re-emergence of a mysterious deadly contagion. In doing so, they fervently deny the contagion of mutual attraction, which only intensifies the sparking tension between them.
