The Immense
Department Q is back on alert.
Carl Morck, head of Q, is interrupted by a phone call during his usual morning nap at work. A colleague from Bornholm asks him for help, but Carl refuses. Hours later, he suffers the consequences and this time he fires his stubborn assistant Rose for real.
Under great pressure, the Q Department revisits the seventeen-year-old and extremely tragic case of a girl who disappeared from school one day and was later found dead high in the branches of a tree. This time, the sober-minded Carl is faced with a very mysterious case, and his adversary, a skilled manipulator with an iron will, protects himself and his loved ones with all the means at his disposal and will not let anyone stand in his way.
Throughout the investigation, Rose, Asad, Carl and newcomer Gordon learn about the alternative living environment and cope with it in their own way, while uncovering an old secret that threatens to bring the Cloverleaf to its knees.
"If the Immeasurable were a cocktail, it would be the Big Jussi. A strong cocktail in a tall glass with a black umbrella and a slice of lemon, professionally mixed from terrible circumstances and mysterious motifs. "
- Politiken"Once again, Jussi Adler-Olsen proves that he can assemble a story from the components that make a good detective novel. He picked the right pace, works with tension, uses extremely tense scenes, sharp replicas, created strange characters and a familiar to readers, albeit a half-assed protagonist, who is full of wry humour and has a fair amount of social sense, that warms the heart, without appearing violent or polemical.
