The Gravedigger and the Murders in Prater

Vienna, 1896: During the “Sawing a Woman in Half” magic trick, a young actress dies in front of a shocked audience. Inspector Leopold von Herzfeldt begins his investigation – with journalist Julia Wolf, his star-crossed love, hot on his heels. Soon, other dead women are found near the Prater – young prostitutes and maids whom nobody will miss. Each victim is dressed differently. Leo needs help, so he turns to his friend, the gravedigger Augustin Rothmayer. Rothmayer is in the middle of writing a new book, *What the Dead Tell Us*, and is engaged in strange experiments. Together, Leo, Julia, and Augustin attempt to stop the killer's cruel theatre.
