The game of wishes

Lucy Hart knows what it's like to grow up without loving parents. She found solace in reading Jack Masterson's Island of the Clock books. Now a teacher, she shares her love of reading with her students, especially Christopher Lamb, who was orphaned. Lucy would like to adopt him, but without funding it is an unattainable dream. But then Masterson announces that he has written a new book and announces a competition for it. Lucy will be one of the contestants who have the chance to win a single copy of the new book.
