The Fairy-Tale Ship

This richly illustrated book introduces the writer Eduard Bass as a talented narrator of short fairytale stories. It presents the very first complete edition of a collection of 43 fairytales from around the world, which Bass retold based on German originals. He managed to publish some of the texts in magazines during his lifetime, and some later appeared in book selections, but twenty of the fairytales remained untouched in the author's literary estate. The complete book edition of the stories, prepared according to editorial principles, was compiled by Hedvika Landová, a graduate of the Faculty of Arts at Masaryk University, and illustrated by the artist Petr Korunka. The result is a high-quality book that will enchant both children and adult readers.
