The eye of the hurricane

The phrase "eye of the hurricane" is a metaphor for the state we must reach if we want to tear away the veil of illusion. The world we perceive with our six senses (the sixth being thought) is not real. The world perceived by the senses is a cover, a screen covering reality. You can ask: "What is the difference between the real world and the world perceived by the senses?"
The real world is not subject to change, it is always the same. He and you, your innermost reality, are one. The real world is true, blissful, pure and absolute consciousness. The world of illusion - the manifested world - is in flux, eternally in motion. It seems to exist, but on a deeper look you will not find anything lasting in it. It's volatile and fleeting. Eastern philosophers call it maya (the great wall of reality). The world of illusion is full of pain and suffering. It evokes a sense of alienation and separateness. The real world is hidden in the world of illusion. As the saying "The hare has no horns" suggests, we need to look deeper, to break through the wall of maya. How do you do that? We must learn to distinguish between illusion and reality. To discern is to "see with the heart." It means experiencing without labels and concepts. That is why in this book the author speaks of "seeing with the heart" - the heart knows no words; knows only intimacy.
