The Early Medieval Burial Ground at Olomouc-Nemilany

This book contains a complete summary of information about the Early Mediaeval burial site in Olomouc-Nemilany. The individual chapters gradually acquaint the reader with the history of the archaeological research and with the find contexts of the individual graves. Special chapters are dedicated to certain aspects of the grave goods. This includes, for example, the issue of textile imprints in corrosion products, finds of chipped industry in graves, or the horse skeletons that were uncovered in separate graves at the burial site. A significant part of the book is devoted to a basic analysis of the burial site – an analysis of the buried population, the manner of laying the dead to rest, and the burial inventory. The comprehensive processing of the available data has thus made it possible to place the burial site within the specific spatial and temporal framework of Moravia at the dawn of history.
