Noble guests descend on Frejštejn Castle to attend a banquet hosted by Henry of Frejštejn, who ruled there at the end of the 13th century. But during this merrymaking, not only a valuable item is stolen, but even a murder occurs.
William, the son of the castle lord, is personally interested in solving the crimes. In an attempt to impress his heartless father and get the lost item back, he unexpectedly joins forces with a rogue puppeteer, Jakub, who is even more interested in catching the culprit than he is. The situation becomes complicated when it becomes clear that the crimes committed in the castle are just the tip of the iceberg.
Will the unlikely pair of investigators succeed in uncovering who is behind the crimes, or will an innocent man end up on the gallows because Vilém will not be brave enough to follow the trail to the end, where the clues lead to his closest proximity?
