Librarian Ruby leads a quiet life in a small town – surrounded by fictional love stories and the feeling that the world is safer observed from a distance. After being deeply hurt, she has sworn never to let anyone get too close to her, let alone to her heart.

When a friend finally gives her the courage to arrange a meeting with a professional escort who is supposed to guide her through the pitfalls of intimacy, her world is unexpectedly turned upside down.
