The Darkness of the Family

England, the year of our Lord 1279

When Christopher de Glenville takes part in a hunt in the New Forest, a favourite hunting ground of English kings since the time of William the Conqueror, he has no idea how his life is about to change in a matter of hours – his wife, Joana, becomes the victim of kidnappers who want to trade her life for an artefact hidden by Christopher's ancestor, Geoffrey de Glenville, after the Battle of Tinchebray; it is said to have miraculous powers. Accompanied by his steward, Thomas Stockton, and other companions, Christopher sets out to follow the trail of the artefact, guided by clues hidden in Arthurian legends. But they are not safe either, because the kidnappers are not the only ones who desire the ancient secret. Christopher must fight for his life, find the artefact, and hope he can save Joana before it's too late.
