The cruelest month

Welcome to Three Pines, a forgotten, backwater village where the cruelest moon has just made good on its threat. Spring is an idyllic season: buds are budding on the trees, the first flowers are breaking through the freshly thawed soil. But not everything is coming to life. When a couple of locals decide to hold a séance at the old Hadley house at Easter to banish evil, one of them dies. I'm terrified. And apparently someone helped him to the other world. The brilliant and empathetic Armand Gamache, Chief Inspector of the Quebec Sureté, arrives to investigate another case - this time he will have to face both the dangerous demons of this seemingly idyllic town and his own.
