The Call of the Snake

Audiobook The Serpent's Calling, by Olga Raclavská, narrated by Šárka Šildová, directed by Ondřej Černý. Tegenar #1 Filip Skácel, a private detective and loving brother, unexpectedly loses his sixteen-year-old stepsister. However, while clearing out Tereza's room, he discovers that something about her death doesn't add up – and that he might not have known her at all. Filip finds himself in a world of drugs, and the deeper he descends into the murky waters of the Olomouc underworld, the bigger the case becomes. What's more, a new unknown appears in the equation: a mysterious woman who might be on the same trail and whose methods are controversial, to say the least. Who is Zoe? Why are there no records of her? And how is she connected to Filip's sister? The clues are desperately few and nothing makes sense, but despite the growing danger, Filip discovers one fundamental thing: everything is completely different from what he could have ever imagined. OLGA RACLAVSKÁ A walking paradox – that's one way to describe her. On the one hand, she loves suspense and writes about people who chase villains through the night; on the other, she needs peace and quiet and enjoys spending time alone, preferably with a camera somewhere in nature. She makes a living from video game localisation and literary translation – she has a number of novels, children's co-editions and popular science books to her name. In her free time, besides writing, she enjoys working out, shooting a bow, reading a good book by a Czech author, or disappearing into the forest. ŠÁRKA ŠILDOVÁ She is a graduate of acting at the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts. After a six-year engagement at the F. X. Šalda Theatre in Liberec, she is now a freelance actress. She has collaborated with the U Stolu, Polárka and Feste theatres, where she still performs. She is also a lecturer for courses for children and adults and hosts social events. In her youth, she was a competitive synchronised swimmer for many years. She can ski, skate, drive a car, ballroom dance, and has a basic knowledge of tap dancing, acrobatics, and the English language.
