The Book of Lost Memories

During Kristallnacht, eleven-year-old Lisavet Levy is hidden from the Nazis by her father in a mysterious place called the Zeit-Raum—a library where the memories of the past are stored. When her father does not return, Lisavet remains trapped there, sifting through the memories of the deceased and trying to save them by preserving them in a book. Many years later, she meets an American, Ernest Duquesne, who has been sent to stop her. In 1965, Ernest's niece Amelia learns of the existence of the Zeit-Raum and the book her uncle was searching for. She soon discovers that the past is not as clear and straightforward as it seems.
