The Arsene Lupin Cases 1: Return of the Detective
After a long and successful career as a thief, Arsène Lupin seeks the help of a therapist to overcome his diagnosed kleptomania. But how to finance the visits to an expensive specialist? Robberies are out of the question, so Lupin starts a detective agency. His very first case concerns the disappearance of a work of incalculable value: a self-portrait by Eugène Delacroix. Why was everyone who touched the painting murdered? Lupin embarks on a turbulent investigation, during which he meets a number of characters – including the budding painter Pablo Picasso and Mata Hari.
