Texts for deconstruction
If Derrida's différance is both spacing, a spatialisation, and deferral, a temporalisation, then it offers us a way to read his early texts years later, a selection of which was first made available to Czech readers in 1993. Again and again, they draw us into a game that is no less strange and wonderful than before, because meaning is born from the differences, the fissures in space and time, that disrupt the seemingly solid and compact fabric of our world and language. Deconstruction is an inevitable step towards being able to recreate ourselves. Like swimmers in cold water, we immerse ourselves in an element that is foreign to us in order to become different without falling apart or dissolving.
