Terrible
They say that no love is stronger than a mother’s love. But what if it doesn’t arrive when it is needed? Is a mother who cannot love her child from the very first moment terrible? And what about a woman in whom a positive pregnancy test does not bring joy, but thoughts of an abortion? In the novel Strašná, burning issues surrounding social prejudice and emotional manipulation meet the narrator’s shocking openness. Yet it is this very openness that is essential if we are to realise that questions concerning a woman’s body and her freedom should be decided by no one other than herself.
