Teachers on the Waves of Transformation

A transforming society is undergoing change on many levels. The two main ones are changes in the structures and culture of society. But how do these big changes translate into the lives of individuals and small communities? The book Teachers on the Waves of Transformation seeks to contribute to the understanding of these issues through exploratory research in two schools in a small town in Central Bohemia. In both schools, the author follows the fate of two generations of teachers. In her interviews with teachers, administrators and parents, she focuses on relationships, values, shared stories and the symbolic and ritual world - the culture of the school.
