Short stories, that Batlicka himself experienced on his travels around the world, he observed, or heard stories about them, are captivated by the great artwork of the heroes, by the depicted environment of unknown lands, with tension and unexpected twists. The stories have appealed to several generations of readers - in the interwar and post-war period they were first read by readers in Mladé hlasatel, in the 1960s they were read by other readers and in the 1990s they were published in book form.
