Summer solstice
The shortest night of the year might be the last
The queen of Czech crime fiction, Michaela Klevisová, delivers a thrilling detective case, this time investigated not by Josef Bergman, but by Inspector Tereza Fabiánová. However, readers can still look forward to more of his stories.
Kamila and Filip find a new home in a remote South Bohemian village, where they want to live closer to nature. But the young couple's idyllic life is short-lived. An arsonist is terrorising the area, and after the summer solstice celebration, a murder takes place. Is the tragic death connected to a misfortune that occurred many years ago in this place shrouded in legends of mysterious rituals? Does the old cottage, once belonging to Kamila's relatives, hold the answers to questions the locals are too afraid to ask out loud? As Inspector Tereza Fabiánová from Jindřichův Hradec begins to unravel the tangled case, old grievances start to surface.
