Summer at the castle

Pixie Sampson has always longed for a large family, but she couldn't have children. Her husband, Frank, was her rock, and together they dreamt of spending their twilight years in the French chateau they bought. But a tragic car accident changed everything, and Pixie became a widow.
Her mother, Gwen, convinces her to go to France anyway and try to start over. However, she has no idea that Brittany holds a huge secret concerning Frank. Pixie gradually discovers his second life in the form of a young woman named Justine and her four-year-old son, Ferdie, who live in the cottage next to the chateau.
Eventually, she gets answers to all her questions. She finds out who Justine is, who her mother is, and what the relationship was between them and Frank. After the initial shock, she tries to understand his actions and find a way to connect with this new family, which isn't easy for her.
Her mother, Gwen, is also going through a fundamental change as she is reunited with the love of her life after sixty years and realises how unfair fate has been to them. And Pixie's nephew, Charlie, is enchanted by Justine and little Ferdie. New beginnings are opening up for everyone, and Brittany offers them wonderful possibilities.
