Sudetenland 1938
The occupation of the border regions of Czechoslovakia by the German army in October 1938 remains a controversial and painful chapter in our history. The book Sudety 1938 explores this period of crisis from the perspective of German Wehrmacht officers. Their findings and observations, written down immediately after returning from their deployment in the Sudetenland, provide a fascinating testimony not only of the peaceful occupation of the ceded territories but also of the secret war preparations for the invasion of Czechoslovakia. In addition to a wealth of illustrations, consisting mainly of previously unpublished and often unique photographs, the book is supplemented by other interesting features, such as examples of the secret regulations and aids prepared by the German General Staff for the war against Czechoslovakia.
