The adventure spy thriller The Barrier by survival master Bear Grylls

The star of Man vs. Wilderness and On the Island comes with the third and final book in his thrilling adventure series.
The year is 1945 and the Nazi megalomaniacal plans are in ruins. In the face of defeat and in a last-minute effort to save Hitler's legacy, the High Command hides the German uranium stockpile deep underground, where it is to lie until the Reich one day rises to fight again. In 2018, former SAS soldier Will Jaeger stumbles upon this terrible truth by accident. Uranus, however, disappears in the meantime, and when Jaeger learns that his wife, Ruth, is also missing, he is certain that the enemy has once again taken up the fight. That much uranium in the wrong hands could destroy the world. Jaeger and his team must find him before his worst fears become reality. But the enemy is one step ahead each time, pushing Jaeger into a corner, to the very edge of his strength. The danger is real, and the people holding Ruth want to settle old scores. It's a race against time. And the clock is ticking...
Death will find you if you don't find it first.

Bear Grylls

Bear Grylls (born 7 June 1974) attended Eton College, later studied Spanish and German at the University of West England, and completed his studies at Birkbeck, University of London, where he studied Hispanic Studies. Further successes did not wait long: he circumnavigated Great Britain and the Arctic, dined in a hot air balloon at 7,500 metres, flew over Angel Falls in Venezuela on a paragliding wing and also over the Himalayas.
