Steve Jobs: the birth of a visionary

Meet the real Steve Jobs

The book became a worldwide bestseller a few days after its release! It brings new facts, previously unpublished memories and interviews and completely changes the way we perceive this extraordinary personality of our time. Follow Jobs's evolution from easy-going upstart to visionary leader!
An engagingly written book that changes the received perception of one of the most impressive figures in modern history. It completely disproves the view of Steve Jobs as a man forever stuck between undeniable genius and uncontrollable boorishness. It offers an answer to a fundamental question about the life and career of the co-founder and head of Apple: How could an unscrupulous and arrogant young man, who preferred to get rid of the company he himself founded, end up becoming the most successful corporate leader and visionary of our time?
Journalism matadors Brent Schlender and Rick Tetzeli have been able to draw on their unique and often exclusive access to Steve to tell an authentic story: the story of a man struggling with his shortcomings, who only over time learned to take full advantage of his strengths. Their colourful and compelling narrative is filled with previously unpublished stories and memories of the people who knew Jobs best and chose to open up to the authors - most notably his family, former close associates and executives at Apple, Pixar and Disney. Brent himself had known Jobs personally for more than a quarter of a century and could corroborate the text with many interviews conducted both officially and off the record. As a result, this book offers a much deeper and more personal portrait of Steve Jobs than other biographies.
With unique colour photographs from the author's archive.

"No other work captures Steve better. "
Steve Dowling, Apple spokesperson
“. is fantastic. Having worked with Steve for over twenty-five years, I can say that this book very wisely captures the growth and complexity of a truly extraordinary person. I hope it will be accepted as the definitive version of his resume. "
Ed Catmull, President of Disney Animation and Pixar
“. will get even the most fanatical Apple fan's heart rate up. A multi-layered portrait of the mercurial Jobs, whose manner and personality constantly evolved until his untimely death. "
Brad Stone, The New York Times Sunday Book Review
"A fascinating and clever book brilliantly capturing what and who the man behind the mask set to the public really was. I'm glad someone could write it. It needed to be written. Previous titles have failed. I definitely recommend it! "
Jonny Evans, Computerworld
