Stalin's play about the Land of Morning Freshness
The Korean War was the real hot phase of the incipient Cold War. It was, among other things, Stalin's attempt to expand Soviet influence in the Far East.
However, the focus of the book by the experienced author and historian Professor Nálevka lies not only in the reconstruction of the course of war events on the Korean peninsula, but also in the analysis of the diplomatic context of this conflict. The availability of Soviet, North American and partly Chinese documentation, such as the extensive correspondence between Stalin and Mao Zedong, has enabled a more detailed understanding of this hitherto little-known chapter in the history of the war. The publication also provides new insights into direct Soviet military involvement. The text also includes a chapter on the forms of Czechoslovak assistance to the North Korean regime.
