Social capital and regional development

The development and quality of life in communities, cities, regions and countries are closely linked to relationships between people, mutual trust or trust in institutions, elements collectively referred to as social capital. The book contains both partial analyses of various aspects of social capital in the Vysočina Region and a synthesizing view of social capital in the region and its contribution to regional development. The interdisciplinary team of authors presents the development of Vysočina in its geographical, demographic, social and economic context. The argument is based on empirical research conducted in the region using social network analysis, interviewing techniques, content analysis of documents and other methods. We believe that this publication will appeal to experts dealing with regional development and social capital in the academic sphere, as well as to representatives of various institutions involved in the development of Czech regions.
